In the year 2017, anyone can have a complete view and total control of their home even while they’re away because of the drastic advances in technology. These smart home devices greatly increase our home security system, while also allowing us to control little things like turning on and off the lights, or controlling the television from our phones. 1. BeOn Starter Pack

The way in which this security device works is unique and interesting. Essentially, it’s a small device that hooks onto light bulbs. When one tells the unit they are going away for a while, the module will then turn on lights in accordance to the person’s light usage patterns, giving the illusion that someone is home.

This smart home device is loved for its color-changing abilities, consisting of a wireless remote control or dimmer. The special bulbs will have to be purchased separately. However, once a person gets it all setup, they can customize light color and brightness.

This smart system essentially allows one to be home at all times, at least to an extent. It let’s the user see who is at their door using video and voice interaction, making it especially useful for mail packages that require a signature. The two-way speaker allows for full conversation.

8. SkyBell HD Wi-Fi Video Doorbell

SkyBell does just about everything that Ring Video Doorbell does. However, extra systems, such as Amazon Echo, can be added to the system as well. The video screen uses 1080p high-definition resolution, free clip storage and on-demand live video streaming. The second version, which is this one, beats the original by a long shot.

9. Nest Cam Indoor

Aside from a two-way talk system, these wireless home security cameras allow one to view their house through a camera from anywhere. It offers a decent 130-degree view. The 1080p resolution is great for both light and low-light conditions. However, it doesn’t do too well in really dark conditions.

10. Vivint Outdoor Camera

The Vivint Outdoor Camera smart system is an outdoor camera with virtually the same features as the indoor one. However, it beats it when it comes to durability and excellent night vision. It goes without saying that it’s completely weatherproof.
