No headphone jack? Not a problem. Here’s some wireless headphones to choose from.

So, in case you haven’t heard, the new iphone does not have a headphone jack. Yup, that’s right. If you get the new iphone, you’re going to have to invest in a new headphone as well. The one you have just won’t cut it.

Yup, that’s right. That does mean the iconic white wire and earbuds that contributed so much to making the Ipod work and bring Apple back from the brink, are now a thing of the past. Soon we’ll only see them in museums.

Oh well, time moves on.

The good news is that it seems that Apple let the headphone manufacturers knows a long time ago and they’ve come up a slew of new wireless headphones for you to choose from. And so, you don’t suddenly have to cut your iTunes music library, as you’ll still be able to listen to that all in high-def quality.

Elite Sport Wireless Earbuds

These beauties aren’t just earbuds, they do a whole lot of other things besides. For example, they allow you to take phone calls and will function as a microphone (just one small tap will suffice). They’ll also measure your heart rate and your activity.

What’s also nice is that the case serves as a portable recharger – which is pretty much a must-have, as there isn’t a lot of space in these kinds of earbuds for you to put a battery.

When you use the case, you’re able to take the 3-hour playtime and double it to six hours. Of course, you will have to take them out to let them charge, but then you can’t have it all.

MDR-1000X

Sony’s new big-can headphones are promising to give you high-quality music without wires. How is that possible? After all, blue tooth is known not to give the same quality as through a wire. Honestly, I don’t know. But that’s the promise.

The headphones will have noise cancelation and superb sound. And they’ve got one great new feature that we didn’t know we’d been waiting for, but now that they’ve got it, we realize we have. This is being able to turn off noise cancelation and actually turn up ambient sound so that you can hear what somebody going to say without having to take off your headphones. Nice, right?

It won’t come cheap at $399.

P7 Wireless

Another great choice for those of you who like the big cans, this model is top notch (though without the ambient sound magnification feature). Instead, they’re offering 17(!) hours of audio playback. That’s a lot of playback.

These will also put you back $399.

The Headphones

Bragi has also joined the fray with their own headphones, which you can pre-order. These babies can do a great deal through the three-button control system on one of the buds (yes, you’ll have to figure out how it works – yet another thing to learn).

They also promise that the buds will offer passive noise cancelation and a 6 hour battery life, without some kind of charge case. So that’s pretty good!

Another bonus? They’re cheaper, at only $119.

Rowkin’s range

Rowkin also released three different kinds of earbuds, which are called the Rowkin mini Plus, the Rowkin Bit and the Rowkin Bit Charge. All three include a mike and therefore allow you to make calls.

The big difference is that the first one (that’s the mini plus) is a single bud, which means that it is really only meant for making calls and not for listening to music. The second and the third do have two buds, with the latter one having a charge kit to let it last longer.

The difference is visible in the price, with the Mini Plus setting you back $59.99, the Bit setting you back $119.99, while the final model – that’s the one with the extra-long battery life – will set you back $129.99.

So should you buy one of these?

In short, yes. These, or some others, as the buds that comes with the iphone just aren’t that good. The problem is that you’ve got to plug them into a lightning connect, but that means yet another thing that you need to carry around and that you can lose.

What’s more, when you’re using the lightning connector you’re not going to be able to charge your phone, which means you’re either going to be listening to music, or charging your phone. You can’t do both at the same time.

I’m sorry, but that’s just annoying. Why can’t I listen to music while I charge my phone?

The solution, of course, is to invest in some good phones

Of course, as you may have noticed, quite a few of the suggestions that have been outlined above are not actually available yet. And so, you might have to wait until you can get something that really works well with your glitzy new phone.

Maybe just wait with buying the new iphone. Maybe try to see if you can keep from losing the lightning adapter for long enough that one of these models is actually in production. The choice is up to you.
