If you have two cards the same value, then you have the option to place your bet down again and split. The “book” would say that you always split aces and eights (unless the dealer has an ace). If when you split, you get the same card again that match you could choose to split again. Finally, blackjack is when you or the dealer receive a 10 (which could be Jack, Queen or King) and an ace. In this instance, nothing can beat blackjack and you would get a payout determined by the casino (usually it is 3 to 2). If you are outside the USA there may be very slightly different rules connected to blackjack.

Roulette

One of the most popular casino games that people play in the USA is roulette. Here, there are normally a total of 38 numbers on the wheel (0, 00 and then 1 to 36) and the dealer will spin the wheel where a ball will then fall into a number. Whatever number is spun is the number that is the winner. All numbers are also red or black (apart from 0, 00 which is green). The tablecloth next to the wheel is rows of numbers where players can bet. They will place chips on the numbers or side bets. If the number comes out, then the player will be paid 35-1. If the player bets on red or black and they win they are paid 2-1. There is also another large number of side bets available. The intensity of a roulette game is usually pretty high and if people place a lot of money on a number and it comes out then they will be fist pumping and walking out of the casino with a smile. There are also different variations of roulette in the USA and if there is any additional symbols or numbers on the wheel it may mean that there are less favourable odds on your side. If there are any European roulette wheels around, then these are even better odds as they only have 37 numbers (00 doesn’t exist) and the payout remains the same at 35-1.
