The best way to gain experience would be an internship. It will expose you to the professional environment, and show you what working in digital marketing really is like. It can also help you in deciding which aspect of digital marketing would be the best for you, in which you feel the best. It will teach you to learn from your mistakes, and show you what kind of obstacles digital marketers encounter in everyday life and how they overcome them.
Unfortunately, internships can be hard to find and get. However, don’t worry – there are other ways apart from internships. For example, you can start your own blog or social media channels. It is also a good way to meet influential people in the industry and learn their opinion and point of view on several aspects. You can also learn about in which direction the industry is heading and what will be the best move to make to stay in-demand.
Digital marketing is a well-prospering industry, especially since it is quite new. It is much more practical and accessible than its traditional version. If you decide to pursue a career in it, you need to remember to never stop learning, so that you can always stay in-demand.
