Things you surely didn’t know about Google Chrome

It’s no secret that the majority of people use Google Chrome as their primary browser when it comes to finding anything. The reason for this is simple: it’s fast, it’s by Google, so you are logged in with your own account and it knows tons of things other browsers don’t do. But there are some further tricks that you may not have known about which could further help you in becoming a professional user of the browser itself. In this chapter we would like to share a handful of good-to-know and further tricks to use to become more efficient.

1. Start using Google Play

We are mostly stuck with YouTube when it comes to playing all sorts of media. But here comes Google Play and it’s expected to become an even larger deal than YouTube is: you can play your saved playlists or any songs for that matter on multiple devices and it also works with drag and drop method. In addition Google Play can play tons of different formats. Don’t forget to unlock the multimedia capabilities in the Settings to be able to use Google Play.

2. Play without connection too

Google has a growing number of games which you can play online but there is one particular game which you can play even when you don’t have internet connection. It’s called Atari Breakout and it’s growing in popularity, especially for the above mentioned reasons. There is also a dinosaur game available to play when users have no connection. All you need to do is to actually tap on the dinosaur and you will be in the game.

3. Multitask

You can now send an email directly from your address bar. You don’t have to do much to reach this: all you need is to type mailto: and the email address of the person whom you would like to send the email to and there you go.

4. Android users’ phone locator

All you need is to type in „ Find my phone” in the search box and Google takes you to a page which helps you a great deal with it comes to finding your lost phone. The feature is only reachable for Android users at this point but Apple has its own „Find my Phone” feature which is more or less the same.

5. Accidentally closed an important tab?

Worry not, because all you need to do is to is to click on “File” and click on “Reopen closed tab” to reload it again.

6. Build your own Chrome webpage

There are tons of templates available in Google Store which can help you customize your Chrome to your own personal taste. Try some of it, many of them come for free.
