How Many Backlinks Per Day is Safe?

Building lots of high-quality backlinks that lead back to your site can do wonders in terms of traffic. If you have many backlinks, especially on high traffic and authority sites, people reading those sites are likely to click on that link.

Moreover, high-quality links also help in SEO rankings; search engines like Google will show your site at the top of the search results.

You might be concerned about is how much is ‘too much.’ Yes, there is such a thing as too much, at least if ‘too much’ entails low quality. The quality of your backlinks makes a difference, and quality is always better than quantity.

On a side note, if you have no idea where your site stands in terms of backlink numbers and quality, backlink analysis is recommended. Either way, if you can muster high-quality backlinks and lots of them, then good for you. That said, how much is too much? Is there such a thing as too much?

Is There Such a Thing as Too Many Backlinks per Day?

The frustrating yet straightforward answer is both yes and no. There’s nothing more frustrating than being told that “well, it depends,” but this is, in fact, reality. The most important thing to remember is that Google frowns upon anything unnatural.

For instance, if you manage to gain 50,000 backlinks per day, chances are that you are not doing so naturally or ethically. Google does not like when people spam backlinks, such as pounding them into every blog comment that you can muster, or even worse, if you pay for them. Google doesn’t like this, and it will negatively impact your SEO ranking.

Backlink quality is more critical than quantity. For instance, 100 good backlinks will do far more good than 10,000 bad backlinks.

Of course, 10,000 good backlinks are better than 10,000 bad ones. Therefore, technically speaking, as long as all of the backlinks you build on any given day are all high quality, then you can build an infinite number of them without worry.

Ensuring High-Quality Backlinks

Now that we have figured out that this comes down to quality, not quantity, how do you build quality backlinks and lots of them? Here are some criteria to keep in mind when trying to decide where to build these backlinks.

First, the websites that your backlinks are on must be trusted authority sites. If the site linking back to you is not seen as an authority, it could actually do you more harm than good. Quality backlinks come from quality sites.

The website’s authoritative stance is essential and how popular the site is and how many people visit it. The higher the traffic on the site, the more likely your backlink will be seen as high quality.

When building backlinks, the site’s content needs to be related to the site being linked. A backlink on a pet-related website won’t do you any good for your auto repair site. Content needs to be related.

How to Get More High-Quality Backlinks on Authority Sites

Now that you know what the best sites and blogs are to have your backlinks inserted into, let’s go over some useful tips on how to get those backlinks.

You can always just ask. Whether you have friends with authority sites or you just know of authority sites you would like backlinks in, it never hurts to ask.

A very popular and successful method for backlinking is by doing guest posts. If you can manage to convince some authority sites to let you guest post, you can probably also persuade them to add a backlink to your site.

Even if websites don’t want to add backlinks to your site, and if they don’t want you guest posting, but you still want a backlink on that site, you may try adding some backlinks into comments.

In other words, write a long, relevant, and coherent comment on a blog post with a topic related to that of your site, and then insert a backlink. Just make sure that it doesn’t look like spam.

Conclusion

The bottom line is that as long as your backlinks are high quality, there is really no such thing as too many per day.
