8 Mobile App Development Platforms

There are dozens of app building platforms that developers can use these days that do not have to cost a ton of money.

However, in a very competitive market, just which of them are the best? The answer will depend on what your own needs and requirements will be from your app-building platform as these will vary from each project taken on.

Some people need apps for businesses, while others design apps for forums, chat groups, for booking events, or sports activities. For those that only need a casual app, there are tools out there that will allow you to create an app from scratch for virtually nothing.

We will show you five of our favorites and let you guys debate whether we are right with our selection! Of course, everybody will have their opinions and each platform will have its pros and cons.

Check them out!

Syclo

We kick off the list with Syclo, the mobile application building platform that initially specialized in enterprise asset management and field service. It has since expanded to allow its platform to allow for all mobile OSes as well but it is EAM and field-based where it stands out. This application is already a very popular choice for creating B2E and B2C applications.

AppsBuilder

Most of you would have heard of the AppsBuilder, one of the world’s leading enterprise mobile app platforms and it is a little surprising to learn this platform has some high-end clients such as Heathrow Airport. This popular mobile development tool incorporates build modes that allow for the creation of employee apps and outward-facing software.

The slogan of this firm is ‘Create and Publish Powerful Mobile apps – No Coding Required’. The last part is why AppsBuilder became such a hit for app developers. The prices to create an app using this platform are also extremely affordable.

Verivo

If you are looking for an app building platform that specializes in creating lightweight native client-side applications – then Verivo should be considered. It is known to be a strong choice because it can support a wide variety of different devices and platforms.

Xamarin

You might have heard that earlier this year, Microsoft acquired Xamarin, a successful mobile app development platform. Those who choose this platform can easily use C# to develop native apps for iOS, Android, and Windows. One of the best features about this platform is that real-time data concerning users and sessions can be accessed via its dashboard.

Appery.io

Appery.io is another popular mobile app development platform that is used by some big names such as ESPN, Samsung and AT&T. The platform is completely cloud-based and it uses some powerful development tools and integrated backend services to provide an app building tool that competes with the best of them.

Streaming Software

Streaming has become incredibly popular as of late. In Germany, there has been a big question over the legality of some streaming sites and VPNs used to stream them. However, there have been quite a few custom apps built especially for movie clubs whereby they can stream certain movies over their custom made apps.

As long as the app developer has been given or gained the proper rights and royalties are being passed over to the producers of movies and series as well as documentaries that are being used by the stream app software.

Netflix is one of the most popular apps out there and you also have HBO. However, to design an app as good this, you would need to hire the services of a professional.

VPN Apps

Yes, you can create your VPN instead of using one of the many services offered by large brand names privacy apps such as the ones listed on this website. Creating your VPN app will not give you the same global access as a paid software app, but you will be able to pick and choose a private server or while you are overseas, you will be able to VPN back into your home network.

Most people that custom design their VPN will only use it to zoom back into their home router. While all their files are stored on a cloud such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

Freelance App Builders Websites

OK, so this last one is cheating a little bit. Yet, if you are someone that wants a mobile app that functions well, but you do not have the time use an app builder yourself, then you can hire someone. UpWork is the best online freelance website right now.

You can sign up, and simply post a job for a mobile app developer. List what you need and exactly what your budget is so people that are willing to design the app for that price will apply to build your app for you.

You can see the freelancer feedback and portfolio to check out other similar projects the mobile app developer has done in the past to make sure you get the right person for the job.

Even if you do not agree with our list, we are pretty sure that you will agree that we are all spoiled by the amount of choice that we have for developing mobile apps. Mobile app building platforms and tools are developing and evolving at a massive rate – so we can only look forward to even more intuitive software in the future!
