Step 1: Screen Lock

A screen lock is a random set of numbers that has to be entered before getting into the phone. And while a basic, random set of numbers might keep out your neighbor or the cab driver, it won’t keep out at sophisticated hacker. There are programs that can randomly run number sequences by the second, guessing different numbers until they yours in finally cracked. You’ll want to start protecting your phone by choosing an incredibly strong screen lock. Add all kinds of different characters, letters, and punctuation.

Step 2: Go Longer

Another great way to protect your phone is by choosing longer passwords. You might choose something short because it is easy to remember. Well, guess what? Something short is going to be easier to guess as well. Once you start getting into the 10 to 15 digits, this is where things get complicated for even the most sophisticated of crackers. There is one caveat. And it is, avoid stringing together pop culture references or simple patterns. If you are going to go long, make it truly random. Even something that you’ll have a hard time remembering.

Step 3: Keep Special Characters Separated

Nowadays, most baccarat online sites make you use special characters in your password so they aren’t as liable if someone cracks it. There is nothing wrong with this and it is an excellent idea. The only problem is that when most people utilize these special characters, the do so either at the beginning or the end of their password. For instance, they’ll put something like 2!Fred!2 or 2!!Fred. The bad guys know people are doing this, and this is something that you’ll want to avoid. Keep those special characters separated.

Step 4: Don’t Change Things

Do you know how people are telling you all the time to change your password every three months? Wrong! Keep your password the same. Not only does changing it make it harder for you to remember, but it’ll make you fall into patterns. For instance, you’ll probably only change one or two numbers at the end or the beginning of the password. This will just make that password easier to crack.

Step 5: Go Single-Serve

This one is probably another that you hear all the time, but it is really important. You only want to use one password per account. Never use the same password for more than one account, regardless of how hard it is for you to remember. Once a hacker gets into one account with your password, they are immediately going to start trying other accounts with this same password.
